Peter was one of the original founders of the HCV Network and we are very grateful for his support and guidance throughout the years.

We’d like to express our gratitude and bid a fond farewell to Peter Gardiner, as he steps down from his position as Legal Director of the HCV Network, a post he held since 2015. Peter is a graduate forester from Stellenbosch University and was Natural Resources Manager for Mondi Group for several years. Peter has been closely involved with Silver Taiga’s work on HCV in the boreal forests of Komi, Russia; the WWF–Mondi Wetland programme in South Africa focused on freshwater ecosystems; and the Mondi Ecological Network Programme at Stellenbosch University, developing supporting science for the value of ecological networks in production landscapes. Peter was one of the original founders of the HCV Network and we could not be more grateful for his support and guidance throughout the years. Ellen Watson, the HCV Network Secretariat's Technical Manager, has taken his position alongside Rod Taylor.
