To support the identification of High Carbon Stock (HCS) forests alongside High Conservation Values (HCVs), the HCV Resource Network (HCVRN) Secretariat has developed an Integrated HCV-HCSA Assessment Manual.
When both HCV and HCSA assessments are required, combining the assessments will optimise use of time and resources for assessors, communities and other stakeholders, as well as company operations.
The HCVRN is conducting a 30-day public consultation to gather input from interested stakeholders. Feel free to share this information with colleagues or other relevant stakeholders.
- Below are the draft manual and the feedback form
To submit feedback, please use the feedback form or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
The consultation will run from June 27 to July 27, 2017
After consultation, the manual will be designed and translated. We are aiming to have at least the English version of the manual published in August 2017.
- When reading this document, please remember that this is a technical manual for Licensed Assessors who will be leading joint HCV-HCS assessments which will undergo HCVRN Assessor Licensing Scheme (ALS) quality control. Also keep in mind the editor’s questions at the beginning and on the right-hand side of the draft.
